Chapter 14: Original & Additional Texts to Hymns in the LDS Hymnals

This list will grow as I continue to study and research ...

If the Title/First Line starts with "The", then you'll find it under 'T'.
--------------------
With some texts I have included additional 'locally-written' verses that have not been 'approved' or 'accepted' by the
Church Music Committee for use in LDS worship services (which does
not affect your using them at home.) Pass
them by local leaders before using them in a church meeting per the instructions in the Handbook of Instructions. If
you know of other 'locally-written' additional lyrics, please send them to me so I can present them here as they are
part of the hymn's history and heritage.
If what you are actually after is simply to learn about the hymns in our current LDS hymnal, I suggest Karen Lynn
Davidson's "Our Latter-day Hymns: the Stories and the Messages". It is an excellent book. If you are interested in
learning about just the songs in the current Children's Songbook, Patricia Kelsey Graham's "We Shall Make Music:
Stories of the Primary Songs and How They Came to Be" is the book for you.
